Mission StatementOur mission is to help reduce the large-scale effects of the fast fashion industry by decreasing the amount of waste caused by discarded clothes. Our main goal is to create a collection system where people could discard their old clothes, sheets, towels, etc. into specific bins across our campus. Our team will then sort the clothes and send them to be recycled, up-cycled, or donated. This would help reduce the large amount of fabric and clothing waste that unnecessarily fills up landfills when it could be re-purposed. We also hope that our system could be replicated at other college campuses, apartment buildings, nursing homes, and more.

Project Scope
When designing and manufacturing clothing, each step and process have different types and volumes of environmental impact. Within our project, we hope to lesson to the landfill waste created by clothing by re-purposing or recycling clothing to increase their use for as long as possible. We also hope to lesson the extreme water and energy use that is needed in creating raw material for clothing by encouraging more recycling and up-cycling.
